This Mod Adds Interplanetary Agriculture to the Stellaris Game.

Do you feel like tea, lavender, spices, and other plants do not get enough love in Stellaris? Then this mod is for you! Interplanetary Agriculture offers 15 new technologies, 5 new buildings, several civics and decisions to bring more greenery to your space empire.

Plant tea, lavender or spices on your worlds. Harness the power of mysterious algae that can produce alloys without the need for minerals. Cultivate the strange Flower Of Silence. Seed planetary gardens on your world. Worship the Tree That Once Spanned The Sky. Even in the far future, plants are still as important as glass and steel.

WARNING, PLEASE READ : For many reasons, the main ones being called “life” and “not a lot of interest in Stellaris currently”, this mod is very slow to update. I am reading your messages and suggestions, but the implementation of features and suggestions can take a lot of time, or not happen at all. I am sorry for that. If you find a big issue in my mod, or want to add something more to it, you are more than welcome to take the code and re-use it, provided you simply give credit and a link to the original mod. Thanks.

A few questions

What is this compatible with?

Interplanetary agriculture is compatible with Stellaris 2.4 and 2.5. As of now, it is not backwards compatible anymore. You can find a 2.3 compatible version here.

It does not require any DLC to work, however some features will only appear with the Utopia, Megacorp or Synthetic Dawn DLC. No vanilla files have been harmed to make this mod, so it should be compatible with any other mod that does not drastically alter the way buildings and jobs work. For the full space solarpunk experience I actually recommend to pair Interplanetary Agriculture with the Ecology mod.

Why use food as upkeep?

The idea of using food as upkeep has a mechanical and a thematic reason. The mechanical one is that I wanted to create a type of buildings that has a different type of upkeep than most other buildings, and food seemed rather unerused as an upkeep resource in Stellaris. Furthermore, the idea is that all of these special crops use terrain and resources that could have been used to grow food-producing crops, hence the food upkeep, which is more of a penalty, in a way, than a “real” upkeep.

Is this broken?

Not nominally, but I’m well-aware the buildings can be very powerful if you build your empire around them.
